Bertie Beach is a recreation area located between Windsor and nearby Edenton, right on the banks of where the Chowan River meets the Albemarle Sound. It is a sandy shoreline where visitors can relax and enjoy the warm weather during spring, summer, and early fall months, with ample parking and a public beach access available. A newly constructed picnic pavilion provides guests with many different amenities, including outdoor showers, public restrooms, water fountains and water bottle refill stations, and picnic table seating. An ADA accessible path runs down to the main beach area, which is a wide sandy shore with lots of space along the water. Visitors can also hike along a 2-mile nature trail which runs throughout the facility.
